Claims & Support

Leadway Health operates a provider-direct claims model, meaning accredited hospitals bill Leadway directly for covered services. Present your Leadway Health ID card at any facility in the applicable network category before receiving non-emergency treatment. For emergency cases, proceed to the nearest facility and notify Leadway Health within 24 hours. Note that some benefits carry waiting periods and are not available in the first policy year or first three months, so review your plan schedule carefully before seeking specialist or surgical care.

How to Make a Claim

  • Present your Leadway Health enrollee card at an accredited network hospital before treatment begins
  • For specialist consultations, obtain a referral from a general practitioner within the network
  • In an emergency, access the nearest appropriate facility and call Leadway Health to notify them within 24 hours of the event.
  • For benefits with waiting periods, confirm eligibility before scheduling elective procedures
  • For reimbursement claims, submit original receipts, a completed claim form, and your enrollee details within 30 days
  • Use the Leadway enrollee app or the telemedicine service to access 24/7 doctor consultations and locate network hospitals

nairaCompare Insight

Leadway Health's most distinctive offering is its Senior Plan range. Very few Nigerian HMOs offer dedicated retail plans for individuals above 55, and the fact that Leadway has structured these plans with chronic disease management, pharmacy benefit management for refills, and age-appropriate health screening reflects a genuine understanding of what older enrollees need. If you are looking to enrol a parent or older relative, these plans are worth examining closely.

For working-age individuals, the Blueberry plan hits a useful middle ground. The combination of private ward access, extended regional coverage to India, ₦300,000 outpatient and ₦750,000 inpatient limits, and fertility investigation cover up to ₦50,000 makes it a well-rounded option for those who want more than the basics without reaching the Blackberry price point. Use nairaCompare to compare Leadway's benefit limits against similarly priced plans from other providers before deciding.
