Licensed & Regulated

Every insurance provider on our platform holds a valid licence from NAICOM, Nigeria's insurance regulator. That means they meet mandatory financial and operational standards, and they are accountable under Nigerian law if things go wrong.

Top-Rated Providers

We feature insurers with strong track records of financial stability, customer satisfaction, and consistent claims performance. A provider's reputation with real policyholders matters as much as their brochure.

Best Price & Coverage

We evaluate the balance between premium cost and what a policy actually covers. A cheap plan that excludes most claims is not a good deal. We look for providers offering genuine value across the range of needs our users have.

Reviewed & Verified

Before any provider is listed, we review their policy documents, terms and conditions, and coverage details. What you see on nairaCompare reflects verified information, not marketing copy copied from a brochure.

What Does a Health Insurance Plan Typically Cover?

1.
Hospitalisation and inpatient care

Most plans cover the cost of being admitted to hospital, including ward fees (private, semi-private, or general), nursing care, and meals during your stay. Some plans cover up to 30 days per year or up to ₦1 million total. Limits vary by plan, so it is worth checking the cap before committing.

2.
Outpatient consultations and tests

Many health insurance plans include cover for doctor visits, specialist consultations, and diagnostic tests like blood work or scans, even when you are not admitted to hospital.

3.
Emergency and accident treatment

If you are injured in an accident or need emergency medical attention, your health insurance plan typically covers the cost of immediate treatment, including emergency room visits and stabilisation care.

4.
Maternity and preventive care

Maternity cover (where available) includes antenatal visits, delivery, and postnatal care. Not all plans include this, so always confirm before choosing. Most plans also cover preventive care like routine check-ups, vaccinations, and screening services.
