It was established by mobilising investible funds from individuals, corporate, and foreigners. Nigerian Energy Sector Fund Plc is listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange

SCM Capital Limited, formerly known as Sterling Capital Markets Limited commenced operations in January 2006 having been registered by the Securities and Exchange Commission to carry on the business of Issuing House and Fund/Portfolio Managers.
